About…
Why?
When I started this blog a year ago, I wrote: “Well, I have sometimes strong opinions about what matters and what not. There are days when lots of thoughts come up, or when I am striked by items in newspapers, magazines, books, movies, television, internet, you name it. There is some urge in me to collect these, categorize them and share them. Hopefully some people will recognize oneself in my area’s of interest and my opinions, or are simply happy someone pointed out these issues. If you are, or not, provide me with your feedback. If you think we are ‘on the same page’, join the blog as a co-author. I would love that!”
Cradle to Cradle
The dominant subject on this blog became William McDonough’s and Michael Braungart’s Cradle to Cradle philosophy. I became really enthusiastic about it after I learned about this in October 2006. In my humble opinion, this movement is important, intrinsically good, hopeful and promising. I started reading about the subject and tried to visit as many Cradle to Cradle related lectures or congresses. Because I am someone who likes to have some overview in life, I started the chronology for myself. After a while, I thought maybe others could benefit from it as well. So far, it seems it does! I receive many emails and week by week I get in contact with more people sharing the same interest, but having complete different backgrounds. I love that. I am not sure where this is going, but I’ve decided to go with the flow and enjoy the journey…

Hi there,
I most certainly recognize oneself in my area’s of interest … cradle to cradle. Seeing the documentary about it on VPRO has made my day - really. It was the first time in years television got me in a good mood, and I am currently reorienting my professional life to dedicate myself to the concept. How do I subscribe to you blog through RSS ?
Very best regards,
Geert
Hi Geert,
Thanks for your interest!
We are very much alike! I am too looking for a way to shift my career and dedicate it to the cradle to cradle idea’s. I am working in IT for the last 10 years in IT, project management, information and business analysis. Currently I am finishing my studies (MSc in Business Administration) at the Erasmus University. My goal is to do my final thesis in the area of Cradle to Cradle and Strategic Management. When this starts, you will read it on my blog.
You can subscribe through RSS by clicking here.
Let’s stay in contact, I am curious about your idea’s!
Hi again - could you drop me an email with your contact details ?
iobs,
Thanks for your chronology.
My background is IT/Information Management too. I see more and more people moving from ict to clean-tech/c2c lately.
I switched to a waste management (family) company and I’m looking for c2c related contacts / initiatives / ideas.
Btw. Geert brave step. I think there are many interesting opportunities in this new field and lots of motivated people will be needed.

Hi Iobs,
Thank you for your chronology.
It was a real shift for me hearing Bill McDonough speak in Montreal a few years ago. After being exposed to this paradigm, it seems negligent to operate any other way.
I was standing in the bathroom last week and something said “what would it take to map the movement and spread of cradle to cradle, telling the stories of hope, and provide a window for people to connect with ‘the essay of clues’, practical projects, media clips, educational institutions, events as they happen around the world. Okay, how much time would it take to compile a list. I had a google around and found you and your wonderful list. Fantastic.
Would be interested in doing some thinking with yo u about how it could develop.

Carl
