Shaw won the award for developing a carpet tile alternative to conventional PVC carpet tile that may be recycled in a sustainable manner, according to the EPA. Shaw’s Eco Solution Q fiber and EcoWorx (more info here) backing are among the first products to be fully assessed through the Cradle-to-Cradle Design Protocol, which assesses individual material used in a product to determine whether it is safe for the ecosystem.

@Noel:Er komt met een paar (4/5) weken een vertaling van het boek. Op de website van Anne-Marie Rakhorst (http://www.duurzaamheid.nl) en ingenieursbureau Search BV (http://www.searchbv.nl) kun je meer informatie vinden.
Michael Braungart was deze week bij de presentatie van haar boek, ‘Duurzaam innoveren…een wereldkans’ in Den Haag. Hierin beschrijft zij de stand van zaken in Nederland op gebied van duurzame inspanningen, in toegankelijke taal. Ik heb het net uit en vind het een echte eye-opener voor zowel bedrijfsleven, politiek als ‘de gewone burger’. Het zit vol tips en weetjes, en roept echt op om iets te doen. Het blijft niet hangen in simpelweg de feiten te beschrijven, deze vrouw heeft karakter en een eigen mening!
Gaat iemand hier naar het congres? Daar spreekt zij ook, namelijk. Ben eens benieuwd wat haar heeft bewogen om zo voortvarend met cradle to cradle aan de slag te gaan.
Ik ga erheen, ik was voor mezelf al begonnen met een vertaling van het boek. Ben erg benieuwd naar de berichtgeving hierover, waar kan ik die vinden (Searchbv leverde weinig op)? Het boek van Rakhorst heeft wat mij betreft te weinig diepgang (ik ben professioneel met dit soort zaken bezig), en is meer een motiverend “coffee table book”.
